Food & Beverage Manager

Assist in the promotion and development of the catering operation and ensure service and quality of F&B meet the high standard expected by our clients.

Key Duties and Accountabilities

Main Responsibilities

  • To assist the Head of F&B in ensuring departmental financial targets are achieved
  • Planning, preparation and delivery of all catering requirements within the Arena, Exhibition, Hospitality and Conference and Banqueting markets in a timely manner
  • To manage and maintain effective and professional business relationship with internal and external clients
  • To lead staff briefings, event setups and breakdowns, and manage onsite bars and kiosks
  • Ensure sufficient numbers of staff are booked for all events and that staff costs are monitored and controlled
  • Responsible for staff training, discipline and conduct. Prepare and implement training programmes to ensure staff development
  • Deliver a high level of customer satisfaction and actively make improvements when required
  • Ensure sufficient stock is ordered for all events. Manage the delivery, storage and movement of all stock and monthly stock takes. Manage stock levels effectively and ensuring minimum waste
  • Ensuring the EPOS system is up to date at all times, ensuring that all pricing is correct and implementing any necessary changes as and when required
  • Make sure all till procedures, cash reconciliation and banking procedures are followed correctly
  • Liaise with the Head of F&B to ensure all relevant Health and Safety at Work Legislation is adhered to and all licensing, food hygiene regulations and allergy procedures are followed
  • Compete all Risk Assessments and Hazard Analysis and ensure all recording and monitoring paperwork is completed and up to date
  • Ensuring the safe use and cleaning of all equipment within the catering areas, report any defects, breakdowns or damage and contacting contractors for repairs
  • Maintain a high level of housekeeping at all times with all catering areas being kept clean and tidy

Knowledge & Qualifications

  • The candidate should have in-depth knowledge of the hospitality sector with high levels of operating and service standards
  • Hospitality Management qualification is desirable but not essential

Skills

  • Have a good financial and commercial awareness
  • Demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Have a thorough understanding of food hygiene, health and safety and licensing regulations
  • Be prepared to work flexibly. The role will include evening and weekend working hours
  • The position involves an element of manual handling
  • Have excellent organisational and planning skills
  • Hands-on approach and capable of being a part of the service delivery

Experience

  • Previous experience at a supervisory level within the hospitality sector is essential

Our box office at TECA will be open on concert days only. This will be open from 17:30 on the date of the show only and closes once the main act comes on stage.

Will I be able to purchase food at TECA?

There is a wide range of food and beverage options available to purchase for concerts and events, including catering outlets offering a variety of hot food options.

Please note - it is against venue policy to allow patrons to bring in their own food and drink to the venue.

Are there cash machines available at TECA?

There will be no cash machines on site, however contactless payments are welcome.

Do you have a cloakroom during concerts?

We do not have cloakroom or storage facilities at TECA for concerts and shows.

Can I bring my camera to a concert?

Compact cameras and camera phones are permitted at concerts unless otherwise stated. Any camera which has a removable lens is not permitted within the venue. This is a stipulation of the acts and their promoters, due to copyright issues.

Photographers must contact TECA (who will pass the request on to the relevant promoter) to request a press pass which, if granted, will allow access with a professional camera.

How do I get to TECA from outside Aberdeen?

Getting into Aberdeen has never been easier with the completion of the new Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route.

TECA is located close to Aberdeen airport, six miles northwest of the city centre you can reach the venue using a range of transport options.

Here at TECA we have 3 onsite hotels with a total of 350 rooms available to the public.

4 Star Hilton, A loft and another hotel to be confirmed. There are also over 11 hotels within a 5 minute drive from TECA available for use.

How do I purchase accessible seating for a show at TECA?

All the tickets for our Special Access Platform are sold via our ticket agent Ticketmaster.
