Aberdeen City Council, its development partner Henry Boot Developments (HBD) and main contractor Robertson Construction are in the process of delivering the new AECC project at Bucksburn, which includes The Event Complex Aberdeen (TECA) and two on-site hotels which will open in summer 2019.
The project will see the creation of a new arena, conference halls, a subterranean multipurpose space, Energy Centre, Hilton and Aloft hotels, car parking and public space. The existing AECC at Bridge of Don will also be redeveloped by HBD once The Event Complex Aberdeen (TECA) opens.
The new facility is an important part of Aberdeen City Council’s plan to grow the city’s economy. TECA is expected to contribute an additional 4.5 million visitors, £113 million of visitor spend and £63m net GVA to the Scottish economy.
